The Rivers That Run Through Us is a story that revolves around five estranged brothers living in the disappearing world of East London’s Isle of Dogs and lost in a labyrinth of troubling preoccupations where nothing is ever what it seems. Henry, Jack, Paul, Ray and John Killerman lead messed up lives, each one dealing with the struggle of his own. Their relationship progresses to another level when Ray decides to help Henry save his love, the wildly enigmatic Sunny, unleashing a chain of events that defy belief.

The book will be published in the spring of 2023 by Foreshore Publishing.

Phil M. Shirley was born in Stoke-on-Trent and grew up there. He is a former sportswriter and the author of a number of books, including The Soul of Boxing, which was longlisted for the William Hill Sports Book of the Year. He lives on the Isle of Dogs in East London.
